CONTEXT
Education is one of the fundamental pillars of society, and therefore it is of the utmost importance for it to be carried out in an excellent manner. In the context of the region, it is often difficult for teachers and students to access educational materials outside the syllabus; because of this many young people are deprived of learning more than the necessary to "approve the test." Such actions encourage conformity on the part of students and is a direct attack to their curiosity.
Due to little institutional support, and the fact that not everyone has the social and economic capacities to attend private tutoring, many students who wish to learn advanced subjects often turn to other means such as the internet or books to continue their learning on their own. However, many young people feel disoriented at the moment of starting their search for knowledge because there is no easy guide present. This is why NeverGiveUp arises, with the purpose of promoting the ability of self-learning among young people and showing that anyone who is motivated can learn, regardless of the circumstances.
INITIATIVE
NeverGiveUp is a non-profit initiative with the objective of communicating and teaching the community about the benefits of learning and self-education; in addition to the steps to become self-regulated learner.
In addition to this, NeverGiveUp seeks to provide personalized support to all those young people who want to learn more on their own, but do not know how to do it. It is for this reason that NeverGiveUp Science was created, a project totally free of charge, with the pupose of helping young people between 10 and 15 years old to enter science in a self-educated style.
NeverGiveUp maintains that the search for knowledge is part of every human being and therefore everyone should have the ability to carry out an active learning, regardless of economic or social circumstances.
Founder
Marvin Mario Martinez Nuñez is a student from Cochabamba (Bolivia)
To date Marvin has participated in numerous international science Olympiads representing his country. Due to the little institutional support, Marvin has prepared himself almost entirely by his own.
